How to Read the Name of a case ABC Vs CIT (SC) (2010) 001 ITR 002., ABC refers to plaintiff (applicant) of the case. CIT refers to defendant (respondent) of the case. (SC) refers to the relevant court. (2010) refers to the relevant year. 001 ITR 002 refers to the reporting of the case in publications. ITR refers to the name of the journal in which the case is reported. 001 means Volume number 1 of the ITR. 002 means Page number 2 of the ITR. So 001 ITR 002 effectively means 2nd page of 1st volume of the ITR.
