How to Remove a Contact Lens STEP 1: Wash and dry your hands completely using soap and a clean towel. STEP 2: Looking up, pull down your lower eyelid. STEP 3: Touch the lower edge of the lens with your index finger. STEP 4: Slide the contact lens down to the white part of your eye. STEP 5: Using your thumb and index finger, squeeze the lens gently and remove it. STEP 6: Use the same procedure to remove the other lens.
