How to be marry-able... I’ve promised for a few years that I would write a book by this title. I chose the title years ago because much of what limits us in marriage is ourselves, what is in our hearts; not what we look like, our career and the things we often think. Before you consider getting married you should seek to understand yourself, and be willing to change to become the person God created you to be; that requires change for all of us, and change is one of the scariest and most challenging things for us to do. I know so many single brothers & sisters, many who would like to build a great relationship and get married. What I don’t mean to imply: 1) that you need to marry to be happy, or that every person should get married 2) that I have all the answers 3) that getting married and being happily married is simple or easy I’m promising I will give you my best by this date next year (5/06/15) by God’s grace, or as we say in the south “the good Lord willing and the creek don’t rise”; primarily God willing and by His help. Others know more than I know, but I don’t think anyone loves each of you more than I do; it’s a gift and an affliction (2 Corinthians 11:27-29). Each of you should first decide God is enough before you rush into one more pursuit of happiness, particularly a relationship so important and a commitment to one other person and to God. I would ask you to please pray God will give me wisdom and strength to do this for you. If you, single or married, have inputs, questions or admonitions please send them to me as a private message; I don’t believe it will be helpful to pour out all your fears and hopes on FB, at least not on my FB:) If you think me a fool then bear with me as Paul said in 2 Corinthians 11:1. I love each of you; I don’t think any of you doubt that. Pray God will provide, and pray God will be honored. Pray.
