How to build a cheap greenhouse Looking to build a cheap greenhouse? Here is how we used our raised beds as a framework to accomplish this. We had been looking at different methods and this made the most sense and was the quickest. so like all my projects I went and picked up some wood and cut a bunch of 4 foot sections and started framing out some boxes and made 4 of them I really need to do a better job of cleaning out the beds in the spring we stood up a section and butted the edge to the outside of the raised bed and screwed it down and stood up another and screwed that down and the two together and repeated the process on the other side I cut and assembled two 4×4 sections and screwed them down and framed out a door and screwed a support onto the fence I cobbled together a ridge beam and screwed that down to the top of the door and the support I just needed to put some supports for the top, wrap it in plastic and throw on a door and I’ll be good to go, probably going to let the chickens run wild in it for a week or so to clear the beds for me I was hoping to finish up the next day, but winter came back, time to wait the weather was finally cooperating with me, so I went and grabbed some wood and cut them to length and screwed them down and started covering it with plastic I got everything stapled down So we finally had a couple nice days of weather, so I picked up some chicken wire and some wood I wrapped the bottom of the plastic, to keep any predators out and to keep the chickens in I trimmed out the plastic from the doorway and my dad started trimming and stapling the end while he was doing that I grabbed a couple scrap 2×6′s I had and attached some cross pieces and attached it to the side, the chickens roost is ready for when I move them down here I threw a thermometer inside, not to shabby for being 42 degrees outside I cut out a frame for the door I stapled down the plastic that I trimmed and some more wire along the bottom I stood it up in place and used some eye hooks to keep it in place and it was done We moved our chickens down the next day , it was a little stressful for them, but they start digging right in
