How to concentrate for long stretches in coaching classes? while (Coaching) { printf (“Yawn”); } Is that what your brain processes? Not your fault, it’s but natural to fall into this loop, when all you have to do is study, for long stretches! For the chaps, who didn’t get it, it’s a code for a loop that makes you yawn, till the coaching classes continue. Going back to the coaching class, it’s a well accepted fact that Concentration is inversely proportional to the Duration of the class. So, do not panic if you too cannot concentrate, everybody has a saturation point for monotony. Here are the few things you can opt for: 1. Try to create your interest in the subject. It’s a very crucial point, because, even if you are not feeling sleepy, or there’s no other distraction, even then you’ll find it difficult to concentrate, after 1-1.5 hrs itself, instead, you’ll start getting bored. So, take interest in the subjects. 2. Do not lag behind. The syllabus covered at coaching class and the syllabus that you’ve finished preparing (self study), should be synchronous with each other. If you’ll lag behind, the classes will obviously seem boring as you won’t understand what’s being taught, since you are yet to reach to that topic. So, try n cover up. 3. Do not take “sleeping” for granted. Sleep well, I mean when at home, sleep well. Because, when sleep starts distracting you, I don’t think anything else seems more luxurious than falling asleep! So, you’d not want your sleeping sensations to “follow wherever you go”. Do not wake up the entire night “studying”, it will fall in the category of ‘poor management’, depleting your day’s studies. 4. I’ve seen students talking about studies even during the break time! C’mon, it’s known as “break” because you need to take one. Breaks are meant to get you back on the horse, when you are just about to reach your saturation level. Thus, try talking about or doing something that’ll actually refresh your mind, thus implying that you did actually take a break. And hence, you are again ready to study, thus maintaining your concentration. 5. Try creating (whether actually, or while dreaming) your love story after or before the coaching class, not during it. Even then, if your heart remains a kid and you have to obey its orders, then also, during the class, make sure your concentration doesn’t get compromised. Look, it’s obviously not possible to be able to remain attentive throughout the entire class, during the entire course. It’s a fact. So, chill and slowly slowly induce the above mentioned points in your daily routine. All the best. P.S – Avoid diluting your concentration. Once lost, it’s actually hard to regain it.
