How to do the Dwyane Wade Euro Step The Euro Step is becoming more and more popular and rightly so! It is one of the best ways to drive to the basket and avoid the help side defender. Manu Ginobili made the move famous in the early 2000’s and players like Wade have incorporated the Euro Step with great success. I think the days are gone where you can beat your man and just go in for a simple lay-up. The higher up you play the more likely it is that you will be met by a shot blocker. Team defences are getting too good to allow straight line drive lay-ups. You manage to beat your man and attack the basket, then these are your options: - get blocked by using a straight line drive (not a good option) - shoot a floater/runner (very difficult shot) - keep your dribble alive and dribble out (lots of turnovers due to little space) Or you can move around the shot blocker by using the Euro Step!
