How to make money in a shallow polarized country: Step 1: Come up with a crazy conspiracy theory, offensive statement, or celebrity scandal. (Any of these can be totally made up.) Step 2: Write an article/blog/etc. (Again, you dont even have to believe what you wrote.) Step 3: Put advertisements on your site. Step 4: Watch the money roll in as people who want to believe polarize to their side in overwhelming support, and people who want to try to correct the ignorance polarize to their side in overwhelming support. I wonder how much money has been made in advertisement ads over that Sterling scandal, or ANY article about Obamacare (for or against), or anything that comes out of the heads of people like Glenn Beck or Rachel Maddow and their ilk. Dont support the madness. Stop encouraging non journalism by clicking on/sharing/supporting stupid articles. Sure we are all going to inherently support the stuff we agree with, but dont dignify the rubbish with a response. If only half of the clicks go away, the other half will eventually follow, because no one is feeding the argument that is trying to be started. (I do it too. We can all work on this. Stop helping bad ideas be so lucrative.)
