How to remove 79 280zx trans in this situation? I think theres aftermarket exhaust here, and the y pipe is rust-fused to the manifold... So Im trying to get the trans out without dealing with that, however the part of the bell housing that bends out to accept the starter keeps it from being able to be pulled straight out... It needs to be rotated, however the shifter cant rotate without hitting the trans tunnel.... And it cant be lowered due to exhaust. Haha. Never ends. Im looking at the Haynes manual saying how to remove the exhaust manifold to maybe just remove the entire manifold+front exhaust.... But. Any other solution would be considered. Saw off exhaust and dont get a citation until I buy a new one? Just hold up the trans and go all out and push away the jack and try to wrest it out with brute strength? Its resting on a Jack at the moment. I cant tell how much further it has to be pulled out before it can safely be lowered..... Is it still engaged with the clutch hub splines here?
