How to save Kyalami: As many people know, Kyalami is going up for auction on 24 July, and as many people also know, the land there is worth a good deal more as something mundane like a shopping complex, than as a racetrack, so its likely that the businessmen bidding their millions want to turn it into one of those. The answer to that is simple: make R500 million before 24 July, and buy the track. People estimate that the going price will be around R250 million, but I say rather make R500 million, because then you have R250 million change in your pocket, and who wouldnt want that? I realise that making R500 million before 24 July is a bit of a hurdle, but nothing is impossible. Maybe we can hold a raffle, or something. Now that we have purchased the track, we are left with another hurdle: people are stupid, and because people are stupid, they buy houses next to a race track and then complain about the noise. Certainly, everyone agrees that these people should be humanely killed, before their stupidity consummates and breeds more stupidity. In the bigger picture, we would be doing humanity a huge favour, but the law doesnt see it that way (despite ongoing debate) thus we need to find other solutions, which arent actually that difficult. You simply need to attend the next residents council meeting, and when they demand that the track closes down, or stops the noise, or has less noisy days than is essential for the profitable running of the track, you simply reply with this: I bought this track because I love motorsport, and I bought the track with the passionate intention of hosting races, so if I cannot host races, then I have no interest in the property, thus I shall leave it abandoned. I shall not renew any of the leases with the current tenants, Ill remove all fencing and anything of value and sell it, and then leave the land unattended. If vagrants happen to move onto it, then so be it, and if more vagrants move onto it, then good, and if it turns into a giant informal settlement, then so be it, so I ask you, ladies and gentlemen, would you prefer a race track next to your home, or a squatter camp?
