How was your Monday? Here was mine: 7am - 936 ABC Hobart comes on the radio. Wake up. Girls know they can now come in to our room. Engage in snuggles all around. 7:30am - Race to see who wins the accolades of First Dressed 8am - Breakfast. Youngest has Gram Cereal (named after the type of cereal she ate at Grams house last year). Oldest has a cocoa banana smoothie. I finish their leftovers and forget to drink the coffee my husband made me. 9am - Log on to computer. Answer emails and check Facebook. Notice that several mums in HMN Chat https://facebook/groups/HMNChat/ are concerned about the state of parenting rooms in Hobarts CBD. I remind them that is why we created The Haven, a place where local families could connect and enjoy a clearn, warm, welcoming environment in the CBD. I also put forward the hope to be operating Monday-Friday instead of just Wednesday - Friday, 10-2pm. If we can get the volunteers, we can keep this great space operating. 9:30am - Drop my girls off at my Sister-in-Laws house for Cousin Swaps. (I look after her little guy 8 hours a week and she looks after my girls 8 hours.) 10:30am - Meet with Alison, acting executive officer of Child Health Association Tasmania for our weekly meeting. Together we look over the new logo and work on the new website all to be launched 9 August at our Re-Launch Party. https://facebook/events/268631946653599/ 11:30am - Return girls Library books to LINC Tasmania. Encountered that awkward moment of running into my own children with their aunty as I was leaving the library. Hi ... Bye! 12pm - Enjoyed a healthy lunch at Pulp Friction - Juice Bar. Sigh. No eating of leftovers. Its all mine. No sharing. Yum. 12pm - Run errands. Notice my children walking down the footpath. Quick! Do I A. duck into the nearest shop? B. high five them as I walk briskly past? or C. turn and walk opposite direction? 1pm - Pop into supermarket for the weeks shopping. Stock up on a dozen bananas. Still obsessed with finding the perfect banana bread recipe. 2pm - Pick up girls from Sister-in-Laws. Stick around for half an hour chatting while oldest wants to go in the car to see if theres any special treats in there waiting for her. 3pm - Stock up on craft supplies at My Kids Room while the girls plan what they want for their birthdays which are both a million years away. 4pm - Arrive home and help daughters resist the urge to do all of the craft RIGHT NOW! 4:30pm - Notice my cold coffee from breakfast still on the bench. Pop into microwave for 1 minute. Forget to take it out. 5pm - Make pizzas together and then build Duplo house/stables/castle. 6:30pm - Bath time. 7pm - Read two new library picture books. Girls not interested in the chapter book I started reading so I turn on the Frozen soundtrack and kiss them goodnight. 7:30pm - Wash the dishes and tidy up. 8:10pm - Notice my coffee in the microwave. Reheat ... again. 8:25pm - Chat with Helen on ABC radio about my Monday and only get up to 9am. 8:30pm - Drink my coffee.
