Howdy, I am wondering if anyone has ever started an Aquaponic system from a pond. I have a 3 acre stocked pond in Missouri. Currently it naturally sustains Bass, Bluegills, and a few Grass Carp. Im thinking about growing some Hybrid Stripped Bass and maybe Bluegill or Crappie in PVC cages. Of course I will need to introduce additional oxygenation to the pond. I would like to experiment pumping the pond water into an Aquaponic system to examine the viability. Understandably this type of system cannot operate on a yearly basis, but we never did want to run it during the winter months anyways. I welcome your comments. I appreciate everyone here. I normally dont comment much on this site. Mainly just read everyones comments. The second photo is one lunker I caught last year.
