Howdy folks, Donna here. Just a quick recap on last nights drama. Whilst face booking and walking back to the hotel after soundcheck in Sydney I took a tumble off a curb and busted up my ankle. Ambulance came and got me high for the pain.( Theres lyrics, right there!) took me off to St Vincents hospital for an Xray and pumped me up with morphine. Apparently I was singing to my hearts content in the Emergency ward. I dont remember but I did remember that I was due on stage in an hours time at The Metro one of my favourite venues in my favourite city. Jp and I stole a wheelchair, hailed a cab and made a run for it ( pardon the pun) straight back to the venue. At the time I thought yeah I can do this but once onstage I started feeling the effects of Oh Shit my leg is thumping and will I be arrested for stealing a wheelchair? But the show went on and I was even Impressed myself how much the music made me feel so much better. I couldnt bare the thought of cancelling our show, nor missing out on getting to perform to such warm and loyal fans of The Waifs whove waited patiently for our rerun for 3 years. It was humiliating yet fun and a very strange experience for me to perform pumped full of Morphine, and been carried onto the stage and propped up in a wheelchair. Thanks to our Amazing Crew,The Gorgeous big Metro bouncers, Charlie the Ambo man, my love Jp, Vik josh n Dave, and mostly thank you, patient lovers of The Waifs music for being such a forgiving and supportive crowd last night. Xxx
