Howdy peeps. I completed my first 20 hour contract for the week this morning in the new role of Educational Residential Support Worker. I had a sleep over last night and had the best nights sleep in a good while and was paid for the pleasure too. The school is in a residential setting, catering for children with profound and multiple learning disabilities. The majority of the staff are dedicated young women who show very high levels of care and compassion. The setting is a an old pile that was bought and has been run as a school since the 1940s. There have been many refurbs with installations of all the necessary equipment these children need for their day to day care. Its a lovely environment to work in the staff sleep over rooms are very comfortable. I appreciate that Im exchanging one challenging situation for another, but it is easier to deal with as there isnt the emotional element at work as there is with mum. Anther 20 hour session next week and I believe I maybe going back after the holidays...
