Hubby built me a catio last fall. I did all the painting and designing. We have hammocks made now to for them.... there is the wire fencing for safety and screen as well to prevent bugs, mosquitos ect from getting in, as well as protection for birds and mice from the cats. I have to make them stay in for cold weather,(40 degrees is the break off) we lock the cat door going out of dinning room window..... The sono tube on ceiling , stripes is on chains, if your buying those at lowes, get the bigger ones,(like the one with cut outs) the cats prefer the larger size, we put carpet running thru bottom of those for traction. This sono tube moves , like a rope bridge does..... We have every thing situated so the cats can run a track thru the catio..... We made a extention off the side of house, where it stuck out for the dinning room, just extended the roof. We left our picket fence in tact, only put plexiglass on bottom for some sheild of rain. There is no lights in it, but we did put a plug, Ill prob run a set of xmas lights or something in it this summer, for fun... I have live cat nip growing inside , youll see the cats wallowing in it.... I have peppermint and spearmint growing outside the catio , to detour fleas..... The cats love there catio....I have talked my husband into a 2nd catio run for my outside cats i feed , just starting.....
