Hudson Valley SPCA - Orange County Thank you all for the offers of support and the flood of questions as to how people can assist at this time! (We apologize that we cannot answer each of you individually!) - We have placed all of the animals who needed to be placed in foster care. We now are maintaining a list of homes where we can transfer dogs who cannot stay in their placement for the long term. - Our physical clean-up process will begin at the end of the week once the fire inspector releases the site. In the meantime, we are collecting supplies and tools that we can use, including heavy duty gloves, brooms, garbage bins, shovels, and contractor bags, as well as face masks to protect against the soot. - Of course the biggest area of need will be financial, both due to thousands in vet bills for the 5 dogs who were injured (4 remain in hospital with lung issues and burns) as well as well as the physical reconstruction of the kennel that was destroyed. Thank you all again for the outpouring of love and support we have received from across the country!!!!
