Huge thanks to amodelofcontrol for this amazing write-up of Cold Waves III! Great discussion of all the bands involved! This was a raw set - one of raw energy, raw anger and, most unexpectedly, raw vocals. Nancys sweet, melodic vocals have always been untreated, of course, and they work brilliantly as a counterpoint to the oppressive atmospheres they create in their music, and Brants frequently ominous, alien vocal treatments. So here, it was quite a surprise to hear Brants primal roar of a vocal, that certainly made for a different sound, but one no less affecting than the studio versions.
