Hugelkultur question: Im finally going to start digging my trench for my woody bed form of HG this Friday. My general question is an age old one: As the weeds grow, do I just keep planting within them and let them grow normally (One straw rev style?)? Im assuming it will end up looking like a mound of weeds (and will be) but Im curious if anyone has any advice if theyve done this before. Most of the HG sites are based off instruction on building them and why....maintaining them is always they maintain themselves....so...is it OK to just let weeds BE---do they really drown out your plants? My garden now Im pretty much letting the weeds be as an experiment. Most of my stuff is just moving along fine!
