Human genealogies and religious affiliations, on their own or even if the former is used foundationally for the latter, will eventually perish outright. They are corrupted by our inborn sin nature and cannot be trusted to give a secure belonging to God, while we sojourn on this earth, nor for when our physical life comes to an end. The true disciples of Christ, instead, trust in the incorruptible blood of Jesus which was shed once and only once for our cleansing and eternal life. A life that, according to the Bible, we enjoy now in the present (1 John 5:11,12) while we await its glorious fulfilment when we all get to heaven. The pure and fully sufficient ransom has been paid. The question is Have you asked God, with a repentent heart, to apply it to your heart, thereby receiving Christ as Saviour? Knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God;and all its glory like the flower of grass. but the word of the Lord remains forever.” - 1 Peter 1:18-25
