Humphrey has made it through the night and is still fighting bless him. We are now emailing and posting the following on all local facebook groups, yahoo etc and have also posted on some other pet forums and I am now trying to get some posters done so we can get signs warning people up there walking their dogs. Please can I ask you all keep sharing this and posting on any local sites and pet sites and on your own facebook pages and twitter to warn other dog owners in the area. Please also send to any rescues that have dogs fostered out in the South Oxfordshire area. Hi I am writing this to warn other dog walkers who walk their dogs in Swyncombe woods Ewelme. We were walking in Swyncombe woods Ewelme Oxfordshire Yesterday Sun 14/9/14 with our 2 dogs Tilly a jack Russell x and Humphrey our Cocker spaniel x , one of our dogs squeaked whilst we were walking and then suddenly began to pant heavily , salivate and started shaking a few moments later he collapsed. We rushed him to the vets whereby the vets thinks he has eaten something toxic , sadly things are not looking good for our dog Humphrey his bloods are showing that his kidneys are already damaged and the vets have told us to prepare ourselves as he may not pull through all we can do is wait and hope he will make it. Vets dont think it is a snake bite from the bloods taken already, they think he has eaten something toxic. There is also a dead squirrel just up past where Humphrey started to display the above symptoms so please be more careful in that area of the woods. I just want to get this put out just in case there was something poisonous in Swyncombe woods. If you have been walking your dog up there and they show any of the above signs please get them to a vet as quickly as possible. I hope that you wont think it rash of me to post and share this but I would like to hope that in by doing so if there is something toxic up there in the woods that by posting this we can save another person from the heartache we are going through at the moment. Best wishes Kelly-joy from The Animal Lifeline UK Team:) animallifelineuk.org/forum/showthread.php?39132-PLEASE-SHARE-SHARE-IN-OXFORDSHIRE&p=213075#post213075 Above is link we have been getting people in the local area to share onto facebook groups , forums and over twitter to make dogs owners aware there could be something harmful up there in the woods , be that something growing up there or something someone has put down perhaps not to harm dogs but squirrels , rabbits etc in the area.
