Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya: Would you like to revive your memories associated with one of the biggest blockbuster romantic movie of Hindi Cinema i.e. DDLJ, this is the right movie for you since it is unofficial remake of DDLJ or can say, its the 2014 version of DDLJ. This movie has Varun Dhawan as SRK, Alia Bhatt as Kajol, Ashutosh Rana as Amrish Puri etc., but what DDLJ didnt have was Shonty and Poplu. Yes, two biggest backbones of HSKD who are Humptys friend. I believe their presence in the movie is as good as Varun and Alia and they made the movie more watchable and laughable. This is a desi version of DDLJ since DDLJ was large and picturized in Europe, instead of Europe, its Delhi in this version. Kajol was shy in the movie but Alia is just so energetic and to quite an extent, more powerful than Varun Dhawan. Varun is good of course but then he should try something different now. He has been doing all lovey-dovey and soft characters till now, but I feel that he should do some challenging role now inspiring Alia Bhatt who did Highway brilliantly. I never thought, after watching Student of the year, I would say it, but I kind of liking Alia now. First Highway, then Two States and now HSKD. She is growing and growing. Her charm is impeccable and she is too good to resist. Now thats what I call progress of an actor. The first half is too good but the second half gets little sluggish since it gives you ditto DDLJ feeling. First half has too many good one-lines which gets little less in second half but thanks to Shonty and Poplu, they managed to make us laugh in the second half too. The end was little boring but then Alia made it vibrant by copying SRK style. 3.5 stars for first half, 2.5 stars for second half, so overall, 3 stars. Go watch it. Its a nice timepass and paisa vasool :)
