Hurray! My initial post: I got a new mouse for my computer. It has a wire, I plugged it in, the computer found and downloaded the drivers. The mouse doesnt work. I unplugged it, and then replugged it. Didnt work. I went to Devices and Printers, my computer knows the mouse is there. I went to the HID-compliant mouse and looked at its properties, and updated its drivers manually. Still doesnt work. and soon after commented Oh wait, maybe I need to restart my computer... Well, as I originally thought, restarting the computer wasnt necessary after downloading the driver (I knew that from experience, but things do change). Soon after that, I realized that the mouse I mentioned was the standard laptop mousepad. The external one was at the bottom listed as unspecified, even though its properties seemed to recognize it as a mouse, deemed its drivers up to date, and the troubleshooting program found no errors. I uninstalled the drivers and replugged it, an nothing. Then I looked online, found every problem possible with the mouse except mine, until like the 20th listing on the search engine, recommending I do exactly what I did, and I realized two things. 1: I forgot to check the box asking if I want to delete the driver software from my computer after clicking uninstall and before clicking Okay. 2: Im not sure whether this was necessary but I forgot to think of restarting my computer afterwards (I should know thats often the case after uninstalling). See, this is what drove me crazy taking that Basic Programming class at MJC ten years ago, this is basic installation, trying to identify the problem in software itself is like proofreading a thousand page essay, I just dont have the patience! Of course, I may try again, I have gotten a bit more patient and what better way to exercise it! Hex isnt so bad, I had practice with that trying to modify a pokemon cheat on an Action Replay, adjusting the pokedex number to hex to get that pokemon early game (at level 5, no legendaries, those who play max stats from the start are insane, I like some challenge) and I never thought to use a website to do the math for me. Yeah, off topic, but thats my day, aside from actually going to park to attempt pullups, mostly I just hung there, but in time. Situps are my other weakness, pushups I can do ten okay, and my legs are by far my strong suit, thanks to bicycling a couple miles a day, three to five times a week.
