Hurriyat Conference JK leaders put to arrest, houses raided ‘Complete withdrawal of forces solution to all issues’ Srinagar, Jan 31: Authorities on Thursday evening put to house arrest the senior Hurriyat Conference JK leaders Shabir Ahmad Shah and Nayeem Ahmad Khan. The leaders were issued notice of not being allowed to leave their residences. Another senior Hurriyat leader Muhammad Yusuf Naqash was also detained at Police Station, Safa Kadal with raids on residences of Mushtaq-ul-Islam and Farooq Ahmad Dar. The Hurriyat spokesperson while strongly condemning the activities of so-called administration said such tactics will never help in resolving issues. “The complete withdrawasl of Indian armed forces is the solution to all the issues,” he said. The spokesperson said that under the presence of Indian forces nothing of Kashmiris is safe and secure. “This has been proved by the recent closure of the Pathribal fake encounter case in which they (Army) became both witness and judge of their own.” The spokesperson said though Kashmiris do not expect any kind of justice from such occupational powers but their highhandedness in this state is a test for international human rights bodies. “Kashmiri nation has pinned their good hopes on world human rights groups that they will raise their voices against the brutalities of Indian occupational forces here,” the spokesperson said. He said the Hurriyat Conference is disappointed over the ill performance of international human rights organizations vis-à-vis Indian occupation in Jammu and Kashmir. “That is why the people of this state feel insecure regarding their lives, honour and dignity.” He siad Kashmiris are only witnessing the massacres and unfortunate incidents one after another, from Gaw Kadal to Kupwara massacre, from Kunan Posh Pora mass rapes to Shopian double rape and murder and fake encounters like Pathribal. “And they (Kashmiris) are aware that none of the culprits will ever be punished.” The Hurriyat Conference once again appeals the world bodies and human rights groups to fulfill their responsibilities towards resolving the long pending humanitarian issue, the spokesperson added.
