Hurriyat call for complete shutdown on Monday Terms Bondipora killings by army to avenge Hyderpora attack Srinagar, June 30: Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani and JKLF Chief Muhammad Yasin Malik have called for complete shutdown on Monday against the killing of two persons at Markundal area of Sumbal in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district by army. The spokesperson of the amalgam told Kashmir Glory that the killings is the revenge by army against Hyderpora incident in which 8 army personnel were killed in a militant attack. Chairman JKLF Mohammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued to GNS termed the killing as cold blodded murder and has called for a complete protest shut down on Monday against the killings. It is the worst example of state terrorism, Geelani said, adding that under the garb of AFSPA they enjoy impunity and authorized to kill any kashmiri and go unaccounted for the crime they commit. He said that Markandal (Sumbal) tragedy has once again proved that Omer Abdullah is merely a show boy and the state administration is for namesake. He said that it is forces that run affairs and people are at their mercy. It is irony, that forces personnel involved in killing of innocent people cannot be prosecuted nor can be perused in any court of law. Terming AFSPA and Disturbed Area Act as a licence to kill, Syed Ali Geelani said that this is being repeated since last 23 years, and as a result, thousands were killed and not single forces personnel responsible for the heinous crime was brought to justice. While in a telephonic address to funeral procession, Syed Ali Geelani expressed deep sorrow and extended his sympathy and condolence with the bereaved families and mourners. Speaking on the occasion Syed Ali Geelani paid tributes to martyrs and added that like prayer and fasting the combat against the injustice and tyranny is obligatory for all Muslims. Syed Ali Geelani in his address said that one who fight against the tyranny and oppression and is killed he is a martyr and this death is verily an enviable. Geelani while addressing urged the mourners to boycott upcoming elections. Meanwhile, Police arrested Former President of the J&K High Court Bar Association Mian Abdul Qayoom, Joint Secretary of the J&K High Court Bar Association Shabir Ahmad Bhat, JKLF Chairman Yasin Malik, Chairman National Front, Nayeem Khan and Democrtaic Freedom Party Chairman Shabir Shah while the members were heading for village Markundal in Sumbal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
