Husband Assisted Blind Wife to Vote In the special election for US Senate yesterday, I ran into an African American couple who went to vote in a Plainsboro polling place. The couple took two small grandchildren with them. The lady was blind. The gentleman was taking care of her and the two kids. I asked them why they came all the way to vote as it was such a difficult task for them. The gentleman said We never missed a vote. Voting is our rights. Our ancestors did not have the rights. Its a great way to teach our grandchildren the importance to vote. The lady said Im almost 70 years old now. I never missed a vote since I was 18 years old. People get what they voted for. If people dont vote, they dont have rights to blame. I asked them how the lady know whom to vote for. They said they discussed and made decision at home using sample ballot. God bless this great couple.
