Hygienopolis ! A woman at my workplace says the German government should not have brought back to Hamburg the German who caught the Ebola virus in Africa. It should have treated him in an African clinic. By bringing him back, it risks initiating a pandemic in Germany. Similarly, she says the US government should not have allowed the American Texas resident back into the country who caught the Ebola virus in Africa. Remember Erewhon, folks ? There lawbreakers receive therapy to restore good character, while those who become sick are ostracized for willful failure to maintain their health.
