While some peole support this, I would contend that it is an irrational method. To begin with, there are several reasons why reducing air travel is not a suitable way to alliviate the pollution. Firstly, there will be negative affects in social life if airline cut down fights.It is true that aircraft stands as one of the fastest transport means. As a result, the demand for plane tickets is quite high; therefore, cutting down the number of flights causes inconvenience in travelling of many people who often have to move away. Secondly, the amount of exhaust fumes from airplanes is inconsiderable in comparion with industrial exhaust. Fact has shown that manufactures produce huge poisonous fume that are much bigger emmissons from airplanes. Therefore, to tackle the pollution, the government should take mothods relating to factories instead of restricting air travel. Additional, decreasing air travel means nothing if people switch to using other means of conveyance such as car, train and ship. It is believed that when airlines do not meet the demand of passengers, travellers tend use personal vehicles or other public transport means as a replacement for airplanes.
