I ALWAYS carry my wallet. Except yesterday. Just ran out of the house in the morning and forgot it. Didnt realize it until midday, when I was driving to a school district one hour east. Midday. No wallet. No cash. No credit cards. No lunch. On my way home at the end of the day, my low fuel light came on about 30 miles from home. Low fuel light means I have about 20 miles of fuel left. No wallet, no gasoline. And then, to top it off, I got pulled over for speeding. No, officer, I dont have my license with me. But... When I got to RISD at 12:30, the secretary asked me if I had had lunch (with no provocation from me) and offered me an extra lunch plate from the inservice. And on the way home, I scrounged $2 in the cup holder and bought myself about 10 more miles of gas—just enough to make it home and to the gas station without a tow. And the officer? Gave me a warning. Its all good.
