I AM AN AMERICAN. I am not a Democrat. I am not a Republican. I owe no allegiance to any political party. I try to stick to a three-way test: factual, necessary, and kind. I dont concern myself with kind when it comes to dealing with those who place party ahead of country and facts. Thats the main reason that I have never joined any party and have, more so in the past, voted both sides of the isle. Sadly, its become quite clear to me, over the past four decades, that, in the words of Henry A Giroux, the discourse of the right moves closer to an unapologetic mode of authoritarianism that views democracy as a curse and corporate rule as a blessing... Democracy has been hijacked by corporate crooks, military thugs and a range of ideological fundamentalists. It is time to recognize that democracy is not merely under siege, but that there is little time left to take it back. The birth of the Tea Party is the most recent manifestation of this trend. Since its advent I have regularly been posting the following - WAKE UP, TRUE CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS!!! Dont let the ill-informed, frightened, avarice stricken, fundamentalist, racist, bigoted, misogynic, homophobic, hypocrites continue to drag your party into the gutter.
