I AM ANNOYED! Of course no one should say that disabled workers should be be made to accept minimum or below minimum wages, but Im now seeing and hearing all the news fury about the insult and its annoying. Because,, What about the people that are being asked to work for NOTHING? Yes NO PAY! There is a whole category of professional people who have spent years and money to qualify in their profession and are asked to work for No Pay. Designers, Musicians, Actors, writers, Theatre Technicians, Artists. Constantly being only offered work for no pay, by well known employers! Some of us would be grateful for a minimum wage. The public dont know about this and why? Because our work is regarded as a hobby to some people yet the theatre industry brings in millions of pounds to the countries total revenue. Known theatres and companies are taking advantage of the glut of out of work artists and are conning people into working for NO Pay! The Government ignores it because we should just say no. But how come they force other industries to pay minimum wage? Oh and disabled people in our profession also get asked to work for No Pay, bet the public and media wont get in an uproar about them!
