I AM JUST FLABBERGASTED AT THE DES MOINES PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT! We have 6+ inches of snow, in some places more.... and its STILL SNOWING with more to come. There is a winter storm advisory for most of the state, including us and surrounding areas. It is like 12° outside right now. Its due to be -3° in th morning (6am) with the wind chill factor having it feel like -20°. ALL of the schools are closing or delayed for 2 hours. All except, who? DMPS of course. Now the superintendent was saying during an interview that he usually will close the schools when the temp is 0° or below or just dangerously low wind chill factors (which can get as low as -40°/- 50° Im told). My question is this: If that segment ran right after the weather report, (which has been warning us of this for 2 days now) during the 5 oclock airing, why in the world is DMPS not listing a closed status for tomorrows school day? Not even a 2 hour delay to allow for some type of warmup? REALLY?!?! Treyveon is not feeling this @ all! Neither am I
