I AM NOT FORGOTTEN, SO SHUT UP DEVIL! 1. Genesis 8:1 God didn’t forget about Noah and all the animals in the boat! He sent a wind to blow across the waters, and the floods began to disappear, 2. Deuteronomy 4:31 For the Lord your God is merciful—he will not abandon you nor destroy you nor forget the promises he has made to your ancestors. 3. Psalm 105:8-9 Though a thousand generations pass he never forgets his promise, his covenant with Abraham and Isaac 4. Hebrews 13:5 Stay away from the love of money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never, never fail you nor forsake you.” 5. Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong! Be courageous! Do not be afraid of them! For the Lord your God will be with you. He will neither fail you nor forsake you.” 6. Deuteronomy 31:8 Don’t be afraid, for the Lord will go before you and will be with you; he will not fail nor forsake you.” 7. 1 Chronicles 28:20 Then he continued, “Be strong and courageous and get to work. Don’t be frightened by the size of the task, for the Lord my God is with you; he will not forsake you. He will see to it that everything is finished correctly. 8. Psalm 37:25 I have been young and now I am old. And in all my years I have never seen the Lord forsake a man who loves him; nor have I seen the children of the godly go hungry. 9. Psalm 94:14 The Lord will not forsake his people, for they are his prize. Life works in cycles. The world calls it biorhythms. In The Lion King they call it the circle of life. What they’re saying is, as life goes on, it changes from day-to-day, but it will eventually return back to the beginning. As people grow old and die they are replaced by newborns. One of the most unchanging truths on this earth is that everything will change. The only thing on this earth that doesn’t change is God’s faithfulness or we could just say “God.” Hebrews 13:8 says: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The author is talking about Jesus here, but we need to remember that they are three in one, so whatever you say about one you say about all three. I said all that and listed all the Scriptures above to talk about today’s title. So often, over the years, we’ve had times when it felt like we were all alone. If this doesn’t relate to you then it’s not for you, but there’s a lot of us who’ve been through times in life when we begin to look at our lives and try to figure out what we’ve done wrong. It feels like heaven is closed for the weekend and our prayers just pile up in the mailbox. We seek an answer, but we can’t seem to find one. It’s times like this when we feel like David did on many occasions where he wrote, “Why have you forsaken me?” The truth is, he was not forsaken, and he was not forgotten. So often you can see in one Psalm where he cries out, “Where are you?” and in the next Psalm, he’s testifying about how God came in and rescued him. The truth is, found in the Scriptures above. You are not forgotten. It’s God’s pleasure to be involved in the lives of His children. Many of you, who are walking around with the spirit of God living in them, are not aware that they are SO not forgotten, SO not forsaken that God has taken up residence in your being. He so concerned about you that He actually moved in with you. He walks and talks with you every day whether you hear Him or not. I developed the habit of talking to God rather than talking to myself. It was very much appreciated by the Holy Spirit and He began daily conversations me. He seems to enjoy talking to me much as I enjoy talking to Him. The whole point of this is that: Yes, you are going to feel alone sometimes. It’s part of life. Everyone has these feelings whether they will admit it or not and yes, it will come back and happen again down the road. The important thing here is to realize that we’re not controlled by our feelings. We focus on what’s true and what’s real. Jesus said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” I’ve gone through a lot in my life, many disappointments, but when I get a word from God, I stand on that word and all my thoughts and “feelings” are based on the word that came to me. The circumstances are not controlling my destiny. My destiny is controlled by Jesus Christ and circumstances are guided by Him. That’s how it works for you too. Place this truth in your mind, speak it out of your mouth, so it can go back into your ears and get into your spirit. “I AM NOT FORGOTTEN!” When the devil or your neighbor or your spouse or some well-meaning Christian or even your brain tries to tell you that God is busy right now and has no time for you. Then they tell you to stand up and walk it out. That’s the time to let it rise up out of your spirit so you can say out loud with your mouth, “I AM NOT FORGOTTEN!” “God is on my side! He is working on my behalf behind the scenes. I cannot see what He’s doing, but I know He’s there because He said that He would never leave me and never forsake me and I choose to believe what He says because not only does He speak the truth, HE IS THE TRUTH! Like the song says, “I am not forgotten, God knows my name.” Sometimes you just have to speak to the Spirit that lives within you and tell Him simply this, “I trust You!” Spend time talking to One who lives within you. He’s patiently waiting to give you all the time you need to talk to Him.NOW sounds like a good time to start. Have a blessed day! Deuteronomy 4:9 “But watch out! Be very careful never to forget what you have seen God doing for you. May his miracles have a deep and permanent effect upon your lives! Tell your children and your grandchildren about the glorious miracles he did.
