Tia Lacy We cannot get over it, because the generational repercussions of it are still impacting us. Just as whites enjoy unmerited privilege and socioeconomic benefits from the coerced and exploited labor their families grew fat on, we must address being kidnapped, raped, oppressed, denied human rights or status, and being killed. He should get over himself and any thought that tells him he has permission to even broach the topic. He must be living outside his mind with that mess! Global African Presence I woke up this morning to an email from a white guy. His words, Slavery was a long time ago. Get over it. Get jobs. This is typical. And many people, including Black people, agree with this. What about you? Do you agree with it? One thing is for sure. You can never say to a Jew, The Holocaust was a long time ago. Get over it. If you do, you say it with peril. You know why? They will go on the attack. They will use all of the resources at their disposal to destroy you. Strong people do not let you denounce their historical experience. Weak people, on the other hand, well, you fill in the blanks.
