****I DARE YOU NOT TO FALL IN LOVE**** A volunteer writes: How not to fall in love…….A babe at 11 months of age and such a delicate little girl as pretty as a baby deer… She was so scared when I first met her. I was so glad that last night, I could leash her without seeing such intense wary eyes…. Lady is for sure a head turner…She is so well made and dressed in the most lovely coat, in the shades of cream and apricot. She is said to be a Lacy Blue, a breed from Texas but Lady is no cow girl. She is as shy as a mouse, at least right now as she was left into our care by her family. I bet that soon enough, with the right owners, safe and loved, she will be bouncing and playing like all pups her age do…Lady was relinquished into our care as she was not the right fit for her family (counting small children) in the hands of which, she was exhibiting some handling issues. She would also be scared of other dogs. Lady is a skittish young female. She jumps at sudden noises and moves and is very hand shy. Still, the same hand she was worried about is now petting her carefully all over. She sits by my side or under my legs…She attempts my lap but thinks better..Maybe another time. In the street, she runs rather than walks, head up, head down, scanning the area. She is quite uncomfortable and definitively prefers the safety of her den. She lets staff pet her but she is petrified of new faces. My feeling is that Lady is not for the average adopter…She is a smart and sensitive young dog, most likely energetic in a normal environment and needs a strong leader as a master, a teacher for good manners, an active person who will give her plenty of exercise for her mind and body. Lady is worth the investment. She is quite dear and gorgeous and just a babe.
