I GAVE CANBERRA A TV CABINET. I cycled down towards the river - TopicsExpress

I GAVE CANBERRA A TV CABINET. I cycled down towards the river bank, came to Gray Street and I saw a Canberra TV truck drive up and park on a service station to get petrol. I caught up to them and told them that I owed the company a TV cabinet in replacement of the burnt one before from Browning Street. I have a cabinet where I live just up the road to fit the size picture tube of the rental sat that was burnt on top from the electric toaster. I said to them, also there’s a tenant living in one of the rooms, he had a rental Canberra TV and he sold it and spent the money, he got a hundred dollars from a dealer doing repairs on these things and sales who set himself up in Mater Hill, near the Post Office. Did you see the tenant sell our TV? Yes I did. What’s his name? I gave Eric but couldn’t think of a family name and I said, he may have rented it while he lived at Anerley. He lives just up there in Tribune Street, first room on the right on top of the front steps. I gave the house address and said, his family name could be Faulkner, he has a brother in Cordelia Street by that family name. Just a minute he said, I think I know who you talking about, I’ll just use the public phone to call the office. He called and was told to get the TV cabinet from me, he spoke about Faulkner and they said, he’s eight months behind with rent. He rented the TV when he was at Anerley, payments stopped and the new people don’t know where he is and now, Mr Lovric told us he sold it to an electrical dealer at Mater hill. Go with him for the cabinet and see if you can find the payment book. I can let you in I said, I have the keys to the rooms and flats. They came with me and I happily handed the TV cabinet to them, I opened Eric’s room and they found the payment book and the agreement and they took them. Thanks the driver said, this still has the Anerley address. I told him, Eric spent six months in jail after his wife divorced him and he refused to give her property settlement, he was jailed because he bashed the woman up, he has no job and lives on the dole, he drinks at Clarence Corner Hotel all the time and is hardly ever home. We locked the door and the driver asked the name of the TV seller, I told them, he will get a fine for buying stolen goods.
