I HAVE A REQUEST - A CHALLENGE TO MYSELF AND A CHALLENGE TO EACH OF YOU - FOR THE WHOLE MONTH OF JULY I CHALLENGE EACH OF US TO BE FILLED WITH THE JOY OF THE LORD - WHEN WE GO TO COMPLAIN WE REPLACE THAT COMPLAINT WITH A BLESSING. I TAKE THE CHALLENGE HOW MANY OF YOU TAKE IT WITH ME. June 28, 2014 This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 I will be glad and rejoice in your love, for you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul. Psalm 31:7 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Isaiah 43:2 Do not be afraid, you who are highly esteemed, he said. Peace! Be strong now; be strong. When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, Speak, my lord, since you have given me strength. Daniel 10:19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain. Colossians 1:27 June 28 - This Is The Day - Have you ever said, I cant wait for this week to be over? How about, This is the worst day ever! How many days have you just wanted to get through it? Psalms 118 reminds us that each day we have, is a day created by God. It is a day we should rejoice in, a day we should be happy. It is not a day where we should be burdened by the stress of our lives, but a day that we should be praising and thanking God. Psalm 118 reminds us that everyday we have is a gift. A day that we should treasure, because we do not know if it will be our last. Everyday is a day we are able to share Gods love, and His joy. We should smile at a new day, just because it exists. Instead, we take the gifts we have for granted, and grumble about our work. We complain about having too much paperwork, too much homework, an unhappy boss, our hours... We tell people how bad our day is going... In Acts 2:28, Luke says: You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in Your presence. Shouldnt that be the attitude we all have? Shouldnt we be grateful for being able to know God? To have a personal relationship with Him? To have another day in His presence? Shouldnt we be grateful that we have another day to spend with our friends and family? Shouldnt we wake up everyday, and think to ourselves, This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it... We need to be joyful for what we have, and remember that everyday God is sharing His love with us. Everyday is a chance to be loved by Him, and to return His love. This Is The Day - Last night as I was looking for something to watch on television and I flipped through the channels - I ran up on Fat Albert and Good Times and I thought man this is the way we should be - Fat Albert always had an encouraging word for his friends and Florida always kept James in line by telling him everything would be alright - yes there were times that Fat Albert got a little upset but he quickly would bring himself back to the reality that he had his friends - he had his homies and there was always something to be thankful for - and yes several times we saw Florida lose her cool but when she looked around and saw that her family and friends were well and that she had them - she soon came back to who she really was - a woman who was grateful for life and being able to live her life and share it with her loved ones. I think it is only fitting that we commit ourselves to a life of joy. But how? you say. We need to make a choice — a choice to rejoice! Wow, I’m a poet and didn’t know it, lol! Lets reflect on what the Lord has done for us and commit to live above our current circumstances and look ahead toward what He is going to do for us in the future! As we look to our Lord we recognize that He suffered the most cruel and agonizing of deaths — yet while facing His death — JOY was set before Him! The author and finisher of our faith looked past the here and now — and was focused on what was coming! Lets do the same. This Is The Day - Rise up and be empowered! Walk today know that the best is yet to come and knowing that this day - this moment is part of the best because this is the day that the Lord has made. In the midst of all - we may face problems but remember to rejoice because this day - today is a present and it is meant to be opened and enjoyed. So, lift up your head, and don’t expect “no obstacles in this life. Continue looking up, and be filled with His joy, because the Lord has already overcome this world and our problems, and we will experience that when we simply give them over to Him! We all have this decision: either to complain because of the trials were enduring…or to prayerfully lift our souls before him …and rejoice in the midst of our troubles — knowing, believing, and even feeling, that God is with us, now…always…all the way! Let’s commit ourselves to the Lord once again today. Let’s stop whining about our difficulties and allow God to use them to sharpen us for His glory! You know why, don’t you? In the event you’ve forgotten — lol — there’s so much work to be done! Continue rejoicing for the joy of the Lord is your strength! Not yesterday....not tomorrow...THIS IS THE DAY!!!!
