I KNOW there is a grand sermon in my story here tonight. Though I suspect its been told already. I took my Dad for another car ride this afternoon. I wanted to get a free pint of paint with one bought. The store was in the area we were the other day. The area with beautiful autumn colored trees. But this time I did not drive on down the road at the familiar light. I turned right on a road that I thought was a stupid side road. oh, GLORIOUS! Was I wrong. The road led us up and down a beautiful scenery of autumn colors. The only thing I could say was OHMYGOD! At least 300 times. Then we turned unto a road with the most beautiful houses I can remember ever seeing. With sculptured lawns. Yes, I took pictures. OH YES!!!!! OHMYGOD. Twice and on and on and on, OHMYGOD! The house and tree lined roads were wide and trees of all shapes and colors lined all the spaces in between. I thought we were in a different state. We passed four children who were walking with their dog to a house for treats. I began to wonder what kinds of expensive candy they were handing to the children. Each house was a small hike to reach the other. I wondered what types of careers these people had. The property taxes must be out of this world! I took a picture of a beautiful house and then next to that house was an even larger one. I shot a picture of that house as well. Until I realized it was vacant. I guess they couldnt afford to buy it. One window in the front was broken. And one window was covered with wood. The bubble I was floating on into the heavens slowly met the ground. The beautiful bubble of How glorious it must be to be this rich! I wondered I wonder if these people are happy. Then it began to rain, not hard. But it was starting to get dark. I drove down one road then turned left, then right, then north, then west, then south. I just want to get home, I said aloud. A said that a few more times. I asked God, with a limp prayer request, He isnt going to hear me prayer. I want to go home. I stopped several more times to photograph two emus that kept company with two young black colored cows fenced in on the farm that seemed to run away from the main road. Then a few more turns and I swear to GOD the road led me back to the exact road I started on from the light!!!!!!!!!! I screamed and screamed and thanked God for getting me back to where I had started out. It was only GOD that could do that! I do not think I could have made it back to the exact road if I had used a map!
