I, Karen Seith, am writing to you on behalf of my campaign to raise funds for publication of my memoir, Baptism By Fire: Screams the Living Cant Hear -Recovering from Anorexia a book that chronicles my 30 year battle with the disease. This disease is 100% preventable, 2,000 people die every year from this, (Thats 5 to 6 people every day!) and it has destroyed many lives, not only the deceased, but it has a ripples effect, effecting hundreds of lives over who have to live with the aftermath. I am working tirelessly on a book that I believe will help people understand eating disorders in a few ways: psychologically, emotionally and physically What is the difference between my book and every other eating disorder book out there? My book offers raw, real, restless emotion that jumps off the page and grabs you by the heart and doesnt let go until the last syllable.. It is estimated that 8 million women suffer from eating disorders in the US and 1 million men, though the men count is a rough estimate, as anorexia and bulimia are known to be womens diseases. This is NOT true.I believe that the public needs to know about this epidemic and take action: talk, talk talk. Be open with your kids, young or old. They are beautiful just the way they are. Perfectly imperfect. My campaign is dedicated to the health and well-being of everyone. No one is excluded. I care about each and every one of you and wish nothing but the best for your lives. Your donation will bring me closer to my goal.What is my goal: to help people! I want people to know what I know. To live like I live: to love themselves, to know that the sky is the limit as far as what they want to accomplish, that nothing is impossible with hard work and dedication. But it all starts with one thing: SELF-LOVE. If we have nothing inside, how are we supposed to give it to anyone else? Emotional bankruptcy is not only lonely, but its EMPTY - Just like my tummy was for years. I wouldnt wish that on anyone. Food is also love. Love yourself, enough to help those in need. And I am in need, but my goal is 2 fold: not only do I want to achieve my dream, but I want others to have what I have. I want to give a gift that has been given to me: with both hands, wholeheartedly. I want you to live the lives you deserve. the one that the universe has mapped out for you. the stars aligned perfectly when your DNA was formed and you were all born for greatness.
