I LOVE SOUTHERNERS. I love the accent. I Love to chat ‘em up. Even when I call customer service about some matter, when I hear that accent, I ask ‘em, “What city am I calling?” and they tell me. Today I had a great chat with DirecTv’s customer service rep. in W. Virginia. Found out that her some is near a river, rendering her valley humid at times; that she and her family grow feed corn and all manner on vegetables on two football size fields. As to the vegetable field, it’s a family/grandparent affair. Everybody has their own plot and plants and all the children help harvest. (The children are Ok with the work for the most part, except for rooting up the potatoes, which the children don’t like to do much because it is hard, hot, work). In addition, my rep. has her own backyard patch currently plagued by rabbits, that are eating her sweet peppers; she has to keep the dog in the yard to run the rabbits off. On it went...
