I`M CONFUSED! I`ve been confronted with a jewish view on antisetism...also or especially in Germany. Much of jewish friends notice a steady rise of antisemitsm here and in many other parts of the world. I would never deny the subtile and open attacks, that Jews have to bear again and again all over the world. But I`m asking if this is special racism or if this is something that belongs to the never ending, totally ignorant and evil kind of disparagement, which can strike every culture, religion and folk. Yes, there are more critical voices against Israel (no, against Zionism!!!!) in the last years -also in the of course very reserved Germany- , but I noticed much more a huge increase of Islam-ignorance and/or paranoia. I notice a high level of scepticism to China and its people. I watch a tendential but increasing Anti-Americanism. I see a kind of Anti-catholicsm. I don`t know anybody in my environment who would call into question the israelian state. I don`t experience any ressentiments against Jews. But, yes, there are still this damn stupid and dangerous Neo-Nazis...there are also intellectuals and politicians who try to spread their poison...but their targets and victims seem to be arbritary. And I don`t think that this is a special german mentality...for me it`s a kind of human sickness...a virus that can be systematic feed or combat...and because of that a always carefully to observe process. Beside all that...if our governments and our people speak about good relationships and friendships between our countries...where ends the beholdenment and right to critical scrutinise the other one...and where begins national ignorance and pretension?
