[I] Mayor of İstanbul Hüseyin Avni Mutlu has made a public statement concerning the recent police assaults on Gezi Park. Claiming that the police conduct was within constraint, Mayor Mutlu intimated that future interventions would be "much different", which is widely interpreted as an subtle threat. [II] Chairman of Human Rights Association (İHD) Öztürk Türkdoğan has stated that the organisation is preparing to appeal to European Court of Human Rights before exhausting inner courses of law as the government instigated police brutality may be considered "force majeure" due to unprecedented scope of the protests as well as the violence of the intervention. [III] Police forces in İstanbul have recently pushed through Gezi Park to tear down tents and barricades. Reports claim that field infirmary at the park is also taken down while heavy smoke-bombing was maintained. [IV] CNNInternational, who has been broadcasting the protests almost since the beginning has stated that the Turkish public since local media channels have lost their credibility. On the other hand, CNNTürk, who has been the target of scorn and criticism due to its biased editorial policy, has claimed that protestors were attacking the police forces. Meanwhile in the real world, video images of a protestor in a wheelchair being shot by water cannon began circulating the networks.
