I PERSONALLY DO NOT KNOW HIM BUT HE SOUNDS OK. MOST OF THE OTHER PARTYS HAVE BEEN HIJACKED BY SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS. About Greg Clark - Alberta Party leader Greg_Clark_-_AP_Leadership_Acceptance_Speech_(2).jpg Greg Clark was born and raised in Alberta. He’s an entrepreneur, husband, father and community leader. While completing his undergraduate degree on the west coast Greg found a passion for politics. He came to believe that politics could be a tool for positive change and after completing university he tried to help lead that change when he worked in the Alberta Legislature for Leader of the Official Opposition Laurence Decore. This experience gave Greg insight into how politics works, and how it often doesnt. Greg switched gears and worked for several information technology companies before completing his MBA, earning an entrance scholarship and top marks in his class. After graduation Greg taught Business Management at the University of Calgary faculty of Continuing Education. Returning to the work world Gregs entrepreneurial spirit took hold. He saw an opportunity to create a company that reflected his values so he joined with two partners to create the consulting firm C3 Associates. C3 works with energy companies to help them manage the vast amounts of information and documents they create, and also helps them to optimize the knowledge generated by the people working in these organizations. C3 Associates is a true new-economy company whose values reflect those of its founders; entrepreneurial spirit, respect for people and a drive to ensure every deal is a fair deal. C3 has been successful, earning Alberta Venture Fast Growth 50 honours in 2011 and 2012 and was named one of Canadas top 250 Information Technology companies by the Branham Group in 2012 and 2013. Greg is also deeply involved in his community. Hes served as co-chair of William Reid School Parent Council, coached his daughters soccer team, volunteered with HomeFront and Calgary Reads, was Vice Chair of Distress Centre Calgary and co-founded the Calgary River Communities Action Group in response to the 2013 floods. But Gregs true passion is his family. He is married to Jessica, a palliative care physician working at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary. They are proud parents of two daughters who are both in elementary school in the public system. After years of being in business Greg became concerned about the direction he saw Alberta heading. He felt that both the style and substance of politics seemed disconnected from Alberta values. When deciding how to get involved again, he struggled to identify with any of the existing political options. Just as it was when he created his company, Greg knew that if there wasnt an organization he wanted to be a part of he would have to be one of the people to help create one. As a new party on Alberta political scene, the Alberta Party offered that opportunity. Greg ran for the party in the 2012 provincial election and served on the Alberta Party board of directors as VP communications until announcing his leadership bid. Greg believes we can have a well-managed government that provides world class services today while also planning carefully for the long term. For him, the fundamental question is, “what kind of Alberta we do we want?” Greg believes we can find the right balance between prosperity and compassion for our neighbours. Greg sold his share of C3 to his partners to enter politics full time. He was elected leader of the Alberta Party on September 21, 2013. Please join Greg on this journey. Together we can realize Alberta’s vast potential and create new opportunities – today and for generations to come.
