I THWARTED A PURSE SNATCHING YESTERDAY!! Yes...Roddy and I were at the American Music Festival yesterday and we were ready to watch the last act…and all of the sudden a guy try to stealthily lift Roddy’s purse from the hollow of her arm while it was resting on the bench next to her. Luckily, she noticed and yelled which beckoned my attention. The guy still hanging on to the purse tried to dash away with the purse but she managed to grab a handle. This slowed the guy down enough allow my cat like reflexes to kick in. I calculated his trajectory and headed him off. Let me tell you there were beers flying everywhere in my attempt to intercept my mark. When I got to him he was surprised. In the meantime he had released the purse. He tried saying there was some mistake while trying to wrest from my clutches. I did a simple judo maneuver that bought me gently down on top of him. The other party goers were taken aback since this had happened so quickly. I told them to call the police. Where we were waiting he claimed I was hurting him “Vous me faites mal”. I smacked him and said “garde-la pour la police, PUNK!” The police came and I released him. We went to the police station to make a complaint. We found out that he was a Tunisian asylum seeker living in Switzerland. He took the train into Luxembourg from Arlon on the frontier in Belgium. What makes me sad is that there are many honest asylum seekers and this guy poisons it for the well. For legal reasons, this story has been slightly embellished :)
