I Timothy 4:13-16 “Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.” We, all, have our daily routine. We get up, we take a shower or bath, get dressed, eat breakfast, and get together what we need for the day. WAIT A MINUTE!! I don’t see anything in the morning routine to spend time with God. Oh, you spend time while you are driving to work, are you listening when you are driving into the person in front of you. Isn’t it fair to God the creator of our universe to spend time with Him when you can give Him your undivided attention. It’s not hard. First, if you have a smart phone, you can get a phone app called “You Version.” It’s a free version of the Bible that contains multiple versions, even some you can listen to. In addition, it contains Bible reading programs, so you have set things to read each day. I’m reading one in the morning and one at night. They give me something to meditate on. On Sundays, I have no readings, so I meditate on what was said in church. Spend time with God today, you will be surprised as to how simple it is and how much your heart appreciates it. God is with you all day, now it’s time for you to be with Him. Lord Jesus, I know I ignore you. I don’t spend the time with you that I should. Sometimes, it’s because I see the injustice in the world, and I just don’t know what to say to you anymore. Sometimes, my schedule doesn’t allow (I know, that’s a flimsy excuse), Sometimes, I honestly just forget. But I try really hard to include you in every aspect of my life, whether big or small or silly or serious. You are the most important thing to me and I want you with me always. Amen.
