I abhors violence tendency by our university students against innocent people during their many demonstrations but what happened in Kisumu earlier today was totally unacceptable and uncalled for. The beatings of students - especially the women - by the locals in what looked like a well choreographed mob justice is totally repugnant and backward. The matter became even more painful to watch because police looked so helpless. The utterances by some locals that students from Kisumu were guilty of petty crimes in the area showed who had been targeted. If I had a child in Kisumu, I would not have rested till he or she was evacuated. That city is not friendly to outsiders. My two cents hate speech.
