I absolutely love this! (Not what happened to her, but her take on it all) Its a long read but sooo worth it! I feel like over media and news makes us live in constant fear. Reality is much different but we are lead to believe much different. Ive had the police at my house for letting my kids play in our front yard and driveway without me out there with them, even though I was in the front room with all the blinds and windows open. I sometimes hate the society we live in. Crazy overbearing/non helpful people who constantly judge us for our own parenting are not at all being helpful but more harmful. I shouldnt have to live in fear of letting my kids play in our driveway or go to the park by themselves even though I can see them from my doorways and windows, but I do. Im always afraid someone will see it, take offense and turn me in... For what? Letting my kids have some freedom? That same freedom that helped shape me and create wonderful childhood memories? For shame!!! Im so over this whole idea. I really should have lived in the 50s,60s, and 70s. I want that same life and freedom for my own kids.
