I accept the thankful challenge to post 3 things to be thankful - TopicsExpress

I accept the thankful challenge to post 3 things to be thankful about every day for 7 days, and to nominate one friend each day to do the same! Today I nominate Craig Kephart . This is my day #7. I am thankful for: 1). Im thankful to God for his Unconditional Love and his plan of salvation. Im thankful for his irresistible grace. Im thankful my salvation isnt dependent on me doing good or doing more good things than the number of bad things Ive done in my life. If that were the case, I know I would have fallen FAR SHORT of what is required. Im thankful the blood of Christ is sufficient and paid the debt I would have owed. Im thankful that my salvation didnt depend on me coming to God or Accepting God in some manor. Im thankful his saving grace is irresistible and he saw fit to save me in spite of myself and my sins. 2). Im thankful to God for a particular Few Good Men in my church and the Christian Examples they have been in my life. Before I came to know these few men, I didnt believe there were ANY good men like my father. I was wrong. First of all, my Assistant Pastor Tom Henry. He is a man among men that truly LIVES what he preaches. He has been a good influence on me since my first few days there at Bible Baptist Church in Maplewood. Toms brothers, Bob Henry and Joe Henry. These two men are as good as they come. Bob, who is no longer with us, was a man who spoke so very few words, but the few words he said, spoke volumes and they were ALWAYS based on what he thought was true and based on Gods word. Joe, who is still with us, is equally a good man as his brothers. Ive never seen him waver from his beliefs in God and he has been quite a Christian Example to me as well. These men have a special meaning to me because they have told me their relationship with their dad, was so very similar to the relationship they saw with me and my dad. They loved my dad very much and I have always respected them for that. 3). Last, but not least. I thank God for ( Mister Johnson ) Marty Johnson. I played 3 sports each year of my four years of high school. I loved the sports I played and I loved the coaches I had. Each of them were good men at what they did and what they stood for. However, after I graduated high school, there was one man I missed the most, and that was Mister Johnson. I sang in his choirs and he taught me to love and appreciate music. The work ethic he taught was second to none. His honesty and uprightness was obvious in everything he did and said. Of all the sports I played and loved, I missed singing and being in those choirs with Mister Johnson most of all. Thanks Mister Johnson for inviting me to be a part of special this thanksgiving and thanks for being such a good man and thanks for being such a good friend.
