I actually broke down and went to a doctor Fri morning, after having an excruciating headache for two days. I do not go often since I think if you go enough, they will find something terribly wrong with you. My blood pressure was 210/115. The nurse and then the doctor checked it. I told him I was trying to learn a new job, and it was driving me crazy. I was born in 1950, before computers. All of the charting--everything--is on a computer. The staff does not understand that I cannot learn this at my age. They just dont seem to think I cant. Which makes me feel more incompetent! Today, after 3 days of my blood pressure medication, plus a beta blocker that Fridays doctor added, my blood pressure is 110/60--which is excellent. However, I feel like a limp dishrag! I cant even walk to the kitchen without getting so worn out, I have to sit down and rest. So, people born in the 50s, should I retire? Ive worked 47 years of my 64, so can I hang it up--or should I keep pushing, irregardless of my health? Would like to know what yall baby boomers would do in my shoes?
