I actually feel like American superhero films have the most dull - TopicsExpress

I actually feel like American superhero films have the most dull fight scenes. I imagine some of those who might like superhero films might think like, What? But you can have people punching each other 2 kilometers and smashing through buildings! And that would be exactly what I find them so dull! I want to know the superheros health meter! Watching the last scenes of Man of Steel, I started to go numb wondering what the rules were for superman and his villains to start actually getting truly injured or tired after smashing through endless buildings, having 1000 ton things falling on supermans face repeatedly, etc. I need some rules to try to convince me that there is an epic, human kind of struggle here. I wonder if I would like it better if there was a HUD showing the heros health bar. :-D I dont like Japanese superheroes that much either, but theres something a little bit different about Japanese superhero films and shows: the heroes have a tendency to die here and there to kind of remind us that theyre not invincible. Example: Rei of Hokuto no Ken, one of my favorite superheroes. He died when his body exploded while locked inside a room, leaving his friends and family to only see a pool of blood forming underneath the door. They also tend to bleed and look like theyre in serious pain in a way that seems a bit more human. That tends to make me a bit more engaged in whats going on.
