I admit - I have been affected by the 50th anniversary of JFKs - TopicsExpress

I admit - I have been affected by the 50th anniversary of JFKs murder. Not that I was trying to not be affected, but I was trying to not get sucked into the media hype. The realization that hit me tonight, though, is that, 50 years later, we American are still healing from the wound left by that act. Politically, socially, culturally, emotionally - we are still healing, I think. I was not even born, yet somehow this affects me. And my son. It feels like it was a profound act of historical morphology. I think it was the equivalent of a 1000-year storm coming and washing away a bunch of CA in one fell swoop (to put it in terms I can deal with easier). Is this bad? I think it is empowering, actually. I wanted to also hear some music, and instinctively Solomon Burke popped up. Turns out Solomon Burke named one of his sons John Fitzgerald Kennedy Burke. Seems appropriate to share this message of hope, Dont Give Up On Me. youtube/watch?v=W0bsWl-GnOo
