I agree. But, the enemy needs to be identified first. It took me nearly two months of phone calls for someone I was assisting, to get a health insurance. First, you would call, several, and they would say the Obama Care was not in place when television commercials where sponsoring it. One of them, Dr. Ana Maria Polo. Second, they would tell me they didnt had guidelines. Others would place me on hold to have them drop the call. Finally, another company, Blue Cross, took the required information, processed the application, payment was send in advanced as requested and through automatic payments and 3 months later, they mailed a letter stating the insurance was cancelled, and not to respond if you agreed to that decision, but on another paragraph stating the premium would increase by $80, and all in all, the most confusing and contradictory letter I have read. I shared that letter with someone else, and they simply felt confused. It took several phone calls, once again, for them to say the premium had increased by the $80. I also know a married couple with 3 children where the husband is a former Marine, who was in Iraq twice, and also, in Afghanistan, gets discharged to be at home with wife and children, where he actually belongs and not in the Army or Marines risking his life, when wife and three children are in need of his father figure, and as a husband as well, to come back home, struggling to find a job, NO HEALTH INSURANCE FOR HIM AND THREE CHILDREN AT LEAST, from the government of The Most Powerful Nation of the World ?????? and for a family premium, basic, with a high deductible, the monthly premium is $1,300 and that is not including dental and vision. Also Medicare, where the U.S. Goverment covers only 80%, cant understand why not 100% since its for retired and disabled citizens who have contributed through their wages to a percentage established for automatic deduction by employers. To cover the additional 20%, these citizens need to enroll in a HMO who gives a list of doctors they have contracted, and the HMO receives an X amount of funds from Medicare, the U.S. Government, and then they fully control and administer the funds, keeping funds that might not have been used. The choices of doctors leaves alot to be desired because a great majority of specialized doctors with the best qualifications and best reputation, do not work for these HMOs. The rhetoric about fighting is not clear, as the enemy has not been identified. Who is the fight against? The U.S. Government? The HMOs who are privately owned; therefore managing the Medicare funds in the best interest of the company, not the retired and the disabled citizens? Who should the citizens of the United States fight against? There are over 40 million citizens WITHOUT ANY HEALTH INSURANCE, making the United States of America, the most powerful nation and leader of all others the ONLY DEVELOPED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD not having a REAL and EFFICIENT Health Program where ALL citizens are covered, and wondering what to do when in need of medical attention. And what about the U.S.servicemen and servicewomen that have left the military? NO HEALTH INSURANCE FOR THEM AND THEIR CHILDREN? Because the other rethoric of how proud of them the U.S. Government is for their service without anything else, sure doesnt meet the medical needs of them, the wife and the children. Why cant the U.S. Goverment manage 100% its Medicare Program employing people to do exactly what these privately owned HMO Companies are doing; therefore, saving money to its Medicare Program, bypassing high salaries of CEOs, wealthy stockholders, etc., who are keeping all the unused funds enlarging their already heavy wallets, or purses, safe boxes most likely, located in luxurious homes?.
